ABET accredited degree program may require technicians to be licensed.
Although most institutions offer programs in major branches of engineering, only a few programs offer smaller specialties. In addition, the programs of the same name may vary depending on the content. For example, some programs emphasize industrial practices, preparing students to work in industry, while others are more theoretical and are designed to prepare students for further work.
